Q: We met with a Realtor a few weeks ago, and about two weeks ago he told me he?d send a listing contract, list of repairs, and some other things, but I haven?t gotten anything. Is this a sign of things to come, or since he knows we?re not listing for a month or so, there?s no rush?

A: Dear Catonsville, I believe in the benefit of the doubt, but suspect you are right about a ?sign of things to come.? There is almost no reason he could not have called in the meanwhile. It IS possible he sent something that was lost in email or post office. But I would be very wary.

A: I would be very concerned that he was not ?on top? of his business or commitments. I would interview other agents and choose one who communicates and follows through in a more timely way. At the very least, he should be in touch with you the day after he met with you and then follow-up within a week or less with the items he promised. If he treats you this way before you list with him, you can count on him ignoring you and your listing while he has you under contract.. There are plenty of agents who would be happy to actually give you good customer service and timely communication! I encourage you to find one. Look for an agent who has the CRS designation after their name. They have the extra training and years of experience to provide great service. Good Luck?
