Scrappy is a 12-year-old shepherd mix that is looking for a loving retirement home.

He spent his entire life with one family, but when the family lost its home, so did Scrappy. Don't let his age fool you ? this handsome guy still has a lot of spirit. He still loves to play, and would love to join you for a daily stroll around the neighborhood. He's sweet, smart and housebroken.

Like all the animals available for adoption at the N.H. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, he's neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on all of his shots. Come adopt Scrappy today.

The N.H. SPCA is on You Tube, to watch a video of Scrappy click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrGM7fjvZv4&feature=player_detailpage.

Upcoming events

  • Sunday, Dec. 2, from 2 to 6 p.m.: N.H. SPCA Holiday Open House. Visit the animals. Holiday music, shopping and raffles, blessing of the animals and tree lighting. Free and open to the public.
  • Dec. 27-28: N.H. SPCA school vacation camps for kids ages 6-12. These day camps during the holiday school vacation will give your child the opportunity to have fun and learn while spending the day with the animals. Register at www.nhspca.org.

To adopt Scrappy or any of the many animals who need homes, visit 104 Portsmouth Ave., Stratham, or call the shelter at 772-2921. For adoption fees, visit www.nhspca.org and click on "How to Adopt." Shelter hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday; and closed on Wednesday.

The N.H. SPCA is especially in need of canned cat and kitten food, kitty litter, blankets, canned lamb and rice dog food.
