Jaguar F-Type: Prototypes tested by racing drivers

Renowned racing drivers Martin Brundle, Christian Danner and Justin Bell were recently given the chance to drive two prototype models of the Jaguar F-Type on the Snetterton race circuit and the surrounding Norfolk roads in the UK, becoming the first outside of Jaguar?s development team to do so.

The models were the F-Type S and F-Type V8 S, powered by a 380 PS V6 and 495 PS V8 respectively. The F-Type S does the century sprint in just under five seconds and is electronically limited to 275 km/h, while the bigger-engined car reaches 100 km/h from rest in 4.3 seconds and hits the electronic buffers at 300 km/h.

Both prototypes ?were fully representative of production intent from a dynamic and powertrain perspective,? and?feature all-aluminium construction, Adaptive Dynamics suspension and an Active Exhaust system.

?To witness three respected drivers take to the track and to hear their positive comments validate our work has been great,? said vehicle integrity chief engineer Mike Cross.

Watch the clip for Brundle, Danner and Bell?s driving impressions. They couldn?t have made a grander entrance at the circuit. As this is the F-Type, you?d want to put some headphones on.
